FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If this is my first Brazilian wax, how long should the hair be?

  • Here at Waxology101, we prefer clients to stop shaving, trimming or the use of nair at least 3 weeks or more  before a wax appointment.

How should I prepare for my Brazilian Wax appointment?

  • Take a warm shower/bath at least 2 hours before the appointment. This helps the skin to soften up and the pores to open
  • Wear loose clothing. (No jeans, tights, lace underwear, etc.)
  • Take an ibuprofen at least 30 mins prior to your wax appointment.
  • Avoid alcohol/caffeine at least 2-3 hours before the appointment. This can cause the skin to be more sensitive by in-taking alcohol/caffeine too close to your appointment.
  • Hydrate with lots of water. Waxing over dehydrated skin can cause sensitivity or waxing over dry skin which can cause discomfort.

What should I do after my Brazilian Wax appointment?

  • Make sure you schedule your wax appointment on a day that you are not busy afterwards. In order to prevent any possible irritation, you do not want to do anything that will cause you to sweat excessively.
  •  Wait at least 24-48 hours before you workout, sit in a sauna or go to the beach/pool.
  • Make sure to wear loose clothing only as stated above for the remainder of the day.
  • Follow your after-care instructions. Each client may have different after care steps depending on your hair and skin type.

DO NOT use PFB, Zandi Land Scrub or Pads together.

They are all exfoliators. Use one product up before you start on the other.

Can I still get a Brazilian wax if I am on my menstrual cycle?

  • Absolutely! As long as you place in a new tampon right before your appointment starts or use a menstrual cup during. However, you are more sensitive during this time & at least 3 days before your cycle starts.
  •  Schedule your wax appointment accordingly if you know you tend to be more sensitive or heavy during your cycle.
  • Cancellation/Rescheduling policies still apply

Can I still get a Brazilian Wax if I am pregnant?

  • Definitely! You can still get waxed when you are pregnant unless your Doctor advises not to.
  •  I always suggest to start waxing in your early stage so that you get used to the wax and your hairs are thinner by the time you are at your last trimester.
  • After birth, wait at least 8 weeks before you come in for your next wax appointment.

How soon can I wax after surgery or having a baby?

  • You are required to get clearance from your doctor before you decide to get a wax; specifically a Brazilian wax.
  • Its typically no less than 6-8 weeks after any type of surgery.
  • C-section- Wait more than 8 weeks
  • Vaginally- Wait more than 6 weeks
